Whether you are playing your first game or your 50th, we hope this checklist will help you out.
KNOW THE GAME:
Try to read as much as you can about the game before you go out to play. Research blogs, Facebook Event Pages and Group discussion pages. If you don’t have a group of friends going with you this will help you find people to play with. This will also make you knowledgeable about the game and what the objectives are.
- Is this big game or a scenario?
- Does it have major objectives with your team broken into squads or is it everyone for themselves to get the team the most points?
- Is the game broken up into time slots?
- Does it have Missions broken up into blocks of time or is it played all day or for 24 hrs?
PREP YOUR GEAR:
Make sure to go through your gear so you have everything you need at least 2-3 weeks prior. You want to make sure your marker(s), hopper(s) and tank(s) are working and you have the spare parts you might need.

SIGN UP DISCOUNTS:
When you sign up make sure to pay attention to discounts that might be available when you are paying for your entry. You might be able to pre-buy paintballs and have them waiting for you when you get there. Fresh paint is the best paint. Also look for early bird pricing for events. There might be a cutoff date to save on entry.
WATER
Bring lots of water. Wear a camelback and have your water on you at all times. It’s a very convenient way to carry your water and also make sure you’re not sharing water bottles with someone else.
THINGS TO BRING:
Make sure you have any tools and spare parts and materials you might need.
- Batteries
- Duct tape
- Teflon tape
- Lube
- Oil
- O-rings
- Extra car key
- Extra barrel blocking device
- Garbage bags
BONUS TIP - BRING HELP!
You are going to move around a great deal during a big game and cover a lot of ground. If you have a “team” of people you are playing with designate a pod person. Have someone be responsible for following the group and picking up spent pods. This person could also be a paint and air runner. They could leave the field of play to get extra paint and fill tanks. A laundry bag works well for collecting pods. That way that person also has what he/she needs to reload paintballs and bring them back to the field.
