Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a list of the questions we receive most often from customers over the phone or by e-mail.

When are you open?
Sat and Sun 9am to 5pm and some holidays
Monday through Friday by appointment (groups of 10 or more)

What are your hours?
9am to 5pm – Playtime is 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Spring and Summer we offer a Private Group session from 3pm – 6pm any day of the week.

How many people do I have to have to do a private party or get group rates?
Our minimum is 10 players for a private group

How old do players have to be to play?

There is no age requirement but Velocity Paintball suggest 10 and older for regular paintball.

Low Impact Paintball can be played by children as young as 7. We suggest 8 – 12 yrs of age.

Can I make a reservation and pay when I get there?
We require a deposit or payment in full several days in advance for a reservation.
We need to be able to guarantee staff and equipment for your group as well as others on the same day.

When can I do a Private Group?
You can do a private group any day of the week.

9am to noon, 11am – 2pm, 1pm to 4pm or all day 9am to 4pm

3pm – 6pm (Spring and Summer)

How much does it cost?
Walk-on rates start at $15 per person for people who already have equipment. (Unlimited air is $10 per tank)
Walk-on rental rates start at $50 per person for people who need to rent. (500 Paintballs are included)

Group rates start at $40 per person with a minimum of 10 players ($400) and include all the gear and 500 paintballs for each player. Your group is private; you will not be mixed in with other players.

What is the Maximum amount of players I can have in my group?

We don’t list a max amount because we can do groups of 150 or more. If you make a reservation for 10 however and show up with 20 we may not be able to accommodate you. We need to have staff available to cover your extra players. So in that sense your max allowed players would be 15.

Can I play in shorts?
We do not recommend you play in shorts but you can if you want to.
You play at your own risk and first aid is up to you.

What should I wear?
It’s best to wear loose fitting clothing. Loose fitting layers helps with absorbing the impact of the ball so you feel it less. Something you don’t mind getting dirty. A hoody or long sleeve shirt, jeans or sweat pants so you can move around easily. Remember you are going to be running and crouching down. Maybe even crawling and kneeling. You want to wear supportive athletic shoes with good grip. At Velocity Paintball Park you will encounter many different kinds of terrain. We have sand, loose dirt, grass, rocks and lots of hills, dips, trenches, creek beds, stumps, trees, bushes and plenty of bunkers made from all kinds of materials; logs, dirt berms, pallets, spools, plastic tubing and plywood.
Bring a change of clothes for the ride home. For example shorts and a t-shirt maybe even a second pair of shoes. A trash bag is helpful to carry your playing clothes home in. We have a changing room for your privacy.

Can we bring our own food or order pizza?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and drinks.
Pizza Hut (760-789-4190) and Dominos(760-788-6644) deliver. We also have a Little Ceasar’s nearby.
We have water, Gatorade, soda, candy, chips and granola bars available at the snack bar.
Please do not bring alcohol; it is not covered under our insurance.

What kind of food do you have at the Park?

We have candy, granola bars, soda, Gatorade and water available at the snack bar.

Do I need a Reservation?
Reservations are only needed for private groups of 10 or more.

Can I reserve as a walk-on?
You can go online and pay for walk-ons if you want to but it is not required. This option is available for parents and/or friends who might want to pay for someone ahead of time and have everything ready and waiting for their child or friends.

Where can I find the waiver?
They are on our webpage, click this link.

Save Time do Your Waiver Online!

Or you can fill out a waiver when you arrive at the park.

I need to rent equipment but I filled out the online waiver.
We require the paper waiver when you are renting because it allows us to track the pieces of equipment you have rented. So you may need to fill one out again.

Why do we have to buy your paintballs?
When you are using our equipment we require you to shoot our paintballs to keep your experience consistent with what we offer. Paintballs brought in from the outside tend to be cheaper and less likely to work in our equipment. This hinders your ability to have a good time. We have also experienced paintballs that are too hard and tend to hurt players.
Paintballs that are offered at stores that have multiple offerings other than just paintball don’t sell through their stock fast enough to keep the paint fresh.

Why are self-equipped players allowed to bring their own paintballs?
People who have purchased their own equipment tend to buy a better quality paintball. They understand that paintballs need to be fresh and have good quality so their markers work at optimum performance. Players that come and play as walk-ons are allowed to bring their own paintballs. We suggest buying from a local paintball store or field to support the healthy growth of paintball.

Is it safe?
Paintball is one of the safest sports you can participate in. Like any other activity or sport there is always the potential for injury. However, paintball has one of the lowest injury rates of any sport. Insurance company statistics have shown that bowling and fishing have higher injury rates than paintball.

Does it hurt?
We’re not going to lie. Getting hit with a paintball can hurt. Some say it feels like getting snapped with a rubber band. Others may not even feel the hit. Your adrenaline can sometimes take over and you won’t even realize some of your paintball hits.

Do you have any discounts?
Our Group and Private Group rates are already discounted quite a bit. We have added things to the packages and you pay less. Walk-ons can sometimes purchase passes through deal sites. We offer deals through these sites most often in the summer when attendance is low.

ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY Walk-Ons save $5 on admission with ID.
ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY Private Groups can pay a flat rate of $500 for groups of 10-20 players any day of the week. Includes gear and 5 cases of paintballs.
